A native Mac workspace without replacing Jira

If your main problem is losing Jira among browser tabs, a browser web app or a site wrapper may be enough. It keeps the existing web interface and its features. A separate window does not turn Jira into a native interface or guarantee faster server responses.
A smaller menu-bar tool

A client requiring organization involvement
Desktop App for Jira supports Mac and Windows through the Desktop Connector for Jira. Check the connector's licensing and compatibility with your administrator before treating the free client download as the full cost.
A GitHub-distributed native client
Balm's README describes its SwiftUI interface, Jira Cloud support, Homebrew distribution and signing caveat. Public source availability is not the same as an open-source license: its license section says all rights reserved. Review its setup requirements rather than assuming it is interchangeable with an App Store download.
What happened to Jira Cloud for Mac and Bee?
Atlassian announced the sunset of Jira Cloud for Mac starting in February 2022 and directed users toward the browser and mobile apps. That does not mean there are no third-party Mac clients.
Bee was another native client. Its developer discontinued it in September 2018. Treat it as a legacy option, not a currently maintained recommendation.
What a desktop client cannot fix
A client can change the interface you use every day. It cannot remove your team's workflow rules, bypass permissions or guarantee that Jira's servers and network respond faster. If the problem is the way your organization has configured Jira, a different client may not solve it.
